Flax Sweater Modifications
Description
This pattern is a modification to a wildly popular and free pattern from Tin Can Knits: Flax
Cast on and learn all the techniques you need to make your first sweater! Flax is a very simple seamless pullover knit from the top down. It's unisex; perfect for men, women, boys and girls.
Tin Can Knits also has a sock-weight version of their design: Flax Light
The modifications seen here were made using our (also wildly popular) Spud & Chloë Sweater.
Modification One:
Divide the stitches across the front into an additional panel of twenty stitches. Place markers at the beginning and end. Because this is worked in the round, you will be creating the garter panel by knitting one row and purling the next alternating.
Row 1: Knit all stitches slipping marker (SM) as you come to them.
Row 2: SM, Purl to marker, SM
Modification Two:
Divide the stitches across the front or the sleeves for a big (16 Stitch Panel) cable. C12B: Slip 6 stitches to cable needle and hold back, K6 from left needle, K6 from cable needle. Repeat cable row every 5 rows.
